Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since late 1980s. Known for her work in film and television from the mid-80s onwards, she's been awarded numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was raised living in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an Aunt and Uncle in New York New York. Bassett moved with her older sister St. Petersburg Florida at five years old so that they could be near their mom and father, who had separated from their dad. Bassett was inspired to become an actress after seeing the production Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. Following her graduation from Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980, with the Bachelor's degree of African American Studies, she was able to obtain the Master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale and, in 1997 they got married. Qualification: B.A. In African-American Studies, 1980. Graduate of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett is currently working in one of the lead parts as Ramonda in the action film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
